Description
Polyvalente Louis-J.-Robichaud is an entrepreneurial community school located in the town of Shediac, a bilingual seaside community of approximately 10 000 people, located fifteen minutes from the city of Moncton. Famous for its hospitality and known as the "Lobster Capital of the World", every year thousands of visitors flock to its sandy beaches and the warmest water in the Atlantic Ocean, north of the Carolinas. There are walking and cycling trails, an arena, soccer and baseball fields, a golf course, bowling centre, tennis courts and a multifunctional centre.
The school is named for the first Acadian who served as Premier of the province of New Brunswick from 1960 to 1969. The international students are offered guidance and support from our orientation team, and a homework assistance clinic is available to all students. We also offer accelerated development programs for students who excel at the academic level with a special interest in the arts, elite level sports or science & technology.
Highlights
The student council is very active and the school spirit is high with many social events organized throughout the year. Our improv club and robotics club participate in regional competitions. Our sports teams go by the name of Les Patriotes, and our men’s hockey team competes at the provincial level.
Mission: At L.-J.-R., we join our efforts and exploit our full potential in order to build our future in a changing society. We do this with pride in the French language and culture, where everyone is able to develop a sense of belonging.
