Description
Carrefour de l’Acadie is located in the heart of Dieppe, a mainly French speaking urban community. As part of the Greater Moncton area (pop. 140 000 approx.) it shares a public transit system with the cities of Moncton and Riverview. Dieppe boasts a Centre for Arts and Culture, a velodrome, an aquatic centre, over 55 km of walking and cycling trails, and a farmer’s market.
Highlights
Our goal is for students to attain their full potential through the global development of the individual. In addition to the basic academic subjects, our students can also develop their creativity through music and the visual arts. They have access to several wind instruments, flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets and trombones, as well as percussions, keyboards and electric bass guitars. Two afterschool groups, the Harmonie orchestra and a jazz band, allow students to further develop their talents and broaden their onstage experience through various shows and competitions. L’art pour tous, tous pourl’art, an artistic creation program with the city’s cultural centre, allows students to participate in a variety of workshops with students from other francophone schools.
Our sports teams, Les Étoiles (the Stars) compete at the regional and provincial levels. We have an active anti-bullying campaign, with many activities organized to encourage bonding and to develop healthy social skills and our website offers information for students and their parents.
Mission: Carrefour de l’Acadie’s mission is to ensure quality education in French, where everyone is encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally in the spirit of collaboration and respect.
