Description
École Arc-en-ciel is located in Oromocto, known as Canada’s model town. Nestled along the Saint John and Oromocto rivers in the western part of the province, this thriving and progressive community of about 9,000 people has grown in part thanks to the Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, one of the largest military training centres in the Commonwealth. Just minutes from the provincial capital, the area offers a variety of recreational and cultural activities (walking trails, parks, museums, art galleries, theatre, music, etc.) and is close to the international airport.
This small school is known for its strong sense of belonging and its focus on social development, creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. It features a cafeteria, a library, and a gymnasium where a range of extracurricular activities and dances are organized by the student council or the parent-school support committee. Many special events are also held during Heritage Week and Provincial French Pride Week.
Rooted in mutual respect and proud of its Francophone identity, École Arc-en-ciel is committed to providing students with a learning environment where: learning is experienced by all students and staff; every teacher is dedicated to ensuring the success of every student; and continuous academic improvement is a shared goal among students, staff, and parents.

PATRICIO – PROFILE OF A MEXICAN STUDENT
Patricio fell in love with Canadian winter! This Grade 8 student at École Arc-en-ciel in Oromocto only knew a few words of French when he arrived, but thanks to his efforts—and the support of his teacher, host family, and new friends—he made incredible progress in a short time.
