Description
L’Odyssée is a mid-sized high school located in a growing, multicultural urban centre. Moncton, the only officially bilingual municipality in Canada, is part of the Greater Moncton area (population approx. 145,000), and shares a public transit system with the cities of Dieppe and Riverview. A popular destination for tourism and shopping, the region hosts international-level concerts and shows—ranging from pop and rock to classical music and ballet—as well as sporting events and festivals (literary, comedy, vintage cars, and more). The city also features many kilometres of easily accessible bike and walking trails, and well-marked shared routes for cyclists and drivers. Twice a day, the world’s highest tides in the Bay of Fundy create a tidal bore, an impressive wave that travels upriver along the Petitcodiac.
The school is located near the Université de Moncton, where many cultural and sports events are held. The school has a vibrant spirit, offering many extracurricular activities and events, and the staff is deeply committed to student success. Sports teams, known as Les Olympiens, compete at both regional and provincial levels. International students must have a basic knowledge of French, and those interested in the enhanced Harmonie music program must meet certain criteria through a selection process.
L’Odyssée is a multicultural family where every member is committed to becoming healthy, accomplished, compassionate, and proud of the richness of Francophone culture. Student, parent, and community engagement in academic success and identity-building is supported by modern pedagogical and technological practices.
