Description
Mathieu-Martin School is a community school located in the heart of Dieppe, a predominantly francophone urban community. Part of the Greater Moncton area (approximately 145,000 inhabitants), it shares a public transit system with the cities of Moncton and Riverview. Dieppe has an arts and culture center, a velodrome, an aquatic center, over 55 km of walking and biking trails, and a farmers market. It is the largest school in the district and is named after Mathieu Martin, the person considered to be the first Acadian student.

The student council is very active, and the many events and activities organized contribute to the school spirit and promote students’ personal development. Our school orchestra, Harmonie, and various sports teams have won several awards and competitions.

The Matadors (boys) and Vedettes (girls) compete in several disciplines at the provincial level (track and field, badminton, softball, baseball, basketball, cross-country, curling, football, golf, hockey, swimming, rugby, soccer, and volleyball). Students who are part of the theater company have the chance to participate in the provincial youth theater festival, and over the years, many have launched their musical careers thanks to Accros de la chanson, a provincial talent competition.

Mathieu-Martin was the first school in Atlantic Canada to become an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School (and the only Francophone school in New Brunswick). This program is offered from 10th to 12th grade. We also offer a sports-study program and a cooperative education program.
