Description L’École
École Aux quatre vents is a warm and welcoming high school located in the small town of Dalhousie, New Brunswick. Nestled in the scenic Appalachian Mountain range and along the shores of the Bay of Chaleur—recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world—Dalhousie is the northernmost town in the province. With a population of about 3,300, the town embraces winter and the many outdoor activities it brings. Sugarloaf ski resort is nearby, and the town is known for its strong passion for hockey. The area also offers many walking, hiking, and biking trails and is world-renowned for its salmon fishing.
As a community school, students are encouraged to actively engage in all aspects of school life. A part-time community development officer coordinates and organizes numerous projects, activities, and extracurricular events. The school has a strong athletic program offering a wide variety of individual and team sports for both boys and girls, either through the school or in partnership with local community facilities. The school has won several provincial championships in soccer, volleyball, improv, and hockey.
In addition to traditional academic courses, a wide range of elective courses is offered, including drama, music, visual arts, cooking, woodworking, and more. Thanks to the small class sizes, teaching is highly interactive and personalized.
