Clément-Cormier was the first high school to be recognized as an entrepreneurial community school by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It is located in Bouctouche, a dynamic municipality of 2,500 people on the Acadian coastline of the Northumberland Strait, about 30 minutes away from Moncton. People here are friendly and love to laugh. It is the birthplace of internationally acclaimed Acadian author, Antonine Maillet, whose fictional characters are brought to life at Le Pays de la Sagouine, a reproduction of an Acadian village, where music, folklore and culture are celebrated.
The J.K. Irving Multicultural Centre is host to many sporting events, conferences and performances, and the nearby Dune de Bouctouche, offers an interpretive centre, walking trails and a boardwalk, where nature lovers can admire and learn how to protect this 12 km long sand dune and it’s sensitive ecosystem.
The Student Council is active and organizes many activities, and school spirit is high when rooting for both the boys’ and girls’ sports teams, Les Cavaliers, which compete at the regional and provincial levels.
The school recently underwent major renovations and is at the forefront of modern technology with SMART boards in almost every classroom. Partnering with several local businesses and organizations, students are given the guidance and tools to discover their passions and to develop their full potential by initiating, creating and managing micro-businesses and projects which are beneficial to the community.
The school encourages personal commitment to Acadian and francophone culture. Clément-Cormier’s vision is: Our mission, your success.
